Every year at the Chapter Regional Conference (CRC) every Chapter in Region XI will give a Summary of the past years’ activities.  The CRC was scheduled to be in Edmonton for the weekend of May 07 to May 10, 2020.  For obvious reasons because of COVID-19 travel at that time was not a good idea.  The yearly Region XI, CRC became a virtual event for May 01st and 08th.

What follows are the 24 slides that we would have presented about our VI ASHRAE, Chapter #145 activities. Figure 1 is just about house keeping identifying who we are.  I (Calvin Tripp) and Vice President or Alternate Yoora Byeon would have talked about our activates and try to answer questions as best we could.

In Figure 7 and Figure 8 we talk about our accomplishments with Membership and Promotion. You can see Stephanie and the group have done a really good job to retrain members and introduce some new members into our chapter.

For the technical meetings or Chapter Technology Transfer (CTTC) as can be seen in Figure 12, Figure 13, Figure 14 and Figure 15 there was interesting activities and last minute adjustments to virtual meetings because of COVID-19.  We had planned for two Distinguished Lecturers (DL) Devin L. and Pam D.  But Pam was cancelled for March and thanks to Daryl C. for stepping in to present at the last minute.  She was able to reschedule her March 12th face to face meeting with a May 14th virtual meeting (via GoToMeeting supported by Society).  You will notice we had participants from other Region XI Chapters and one participant from India.  We did not have any events in April because of adapting to COVID-19.  We tested out Lunch meetings (Thanks to Stantec for providing the lunchtime space) as well as our regular Dinner meetings.

To help improve our donations to Research and Promotion (RP) we tried some 50/50 draws, this can be seen in Figure 16 and Figure 17.  There has been a slow and steady increase from our chapter to RP each year.

Every year we prepare for the next year, in this case 2020/21.  The transitions occurs on July 1st each year.  In Figure 22 you can see who is in what role for next year.  You will see lots of new people and lots of returning members as well.  A couple of new roles are Member at large and Sustainability.

Another common question we get from Membership is where were the CRC’s and where will the next CRC be.  You can see in Figure 23 the history of CRC which will give a rough idea of where future CRC’s will be.  Because we did not physically attend Edmonton this year the schedule might alter a little bit from this schedule.  It is also worth noting that the Manitoba Chapter (see Table 1) will be celebrating it 90th year in 2025 so they might try to have the CRC in Manitoba that year.
